MA 34990 / ECE 39595: Signals and Systems

Students connect Fourier analysis and signals to sound, hardware, frequency analysis, and data processing.

• Prerequisite: MA 16290, MA 26190, or prior Python experience
• Corequisite: ECE 301, AAE 301, MA 428, or MA 34900
• Format: Weekly face-to-face computer laboratory

What students do

• Play and synthesize sound with sinusoidal functions.
• Build a theremin and voice changer.
• Implement and use the discrete Fourier transform.
• Denoise signals, build a pedometer, and tune an instrument.
